2019 Summer Reading Program – A Universe of Stories
Summer Reading Program
Summertime is reading time! The Warren County Memorial Library is promoting the national theme, “A Universe of Stories” during our 2019 Annual Summer Reading Program. Readers of all ages are invited to our LIFTOFF registration event on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. featuring balloon twisting by “BoHo the Clown”, special guests, activities, and pizza. The Summer Reading Program runs five weeks and ends Friday, July 26, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. with a FINAL MISSION Closing Celebration celebrating reading and readers.
Anytime is a good time to read, but summer is an important time to keep it up. Participating in the library summer reading program can make the difference between summer setback and summer success, leading to better academic performance when kids and teens return to school in the fall. Plus, our library makes summer reading fun, with incentives, arts and crafts and special events designed to enhance the reading experience.
How it Works
- Register for the Summer Reading Program and join the Rocket Reader Challenge!
- Read or listen to as many books as you can and write the titles on your reading log.
- Report the number of books you read to the library over the phone or in person. Earn a Rocket Reader certificate after reporting 10 books (ages 0-11) or 5 books (ages 12-adult).
- #StarReaders are invited to the Summer Reading FINAL MISSION for Top Reader awards, grand prizes, and refreshments.
